HOW DO I CONNECT TO MY MUSE AND START MY FIRST SESSION?

Make sure to check which model of Muse you have before reading the below instructions.

If you have a Muse 2016 (button with power symbol)

With Muse 2016, you do not need to manually pair the headband through your device's Bluetooth settings. Instead, the Muse app will automatically connect to the headband when you click 'Start Session'.
To connect the Muse to your device via Bluetooth and start your first meditation session, please follow the steps below:

1. Enable Bluetooth on your phone or tablet. This can be done by going to Settings > Bluetooth > On.

2. Turn on your headband by pressing the power button once. The LED lights should go into a cascading motion.

3. Open the Muse app on your device and tap 'Start Session'

4. Select the image on the right “Button with Power Symbol”. Wait for the device to connect to your Muse headband.

5. Wait for your Muse to appear in the list of available devices on the Muse app, then tap to connect.

6. Place the headband on your head, ensure volume is turned up and begin the signal quality check.

 

If you have a Muse 2014 (blank button without power symbol)

Muse 2014 will need to be paired manually through your device's Bluetooth settings before you can connect in the Muse app. To connect your Muse 2014 to your device via Bluetooth and start your first meditation session, please follow the steps below:

1. Enable Bluetooth on your phone or tablet. This can be done by going to Settings > Bluetooth > On.

2. Turn your headband into pairing mode by holding the power button for 6 seconds. The LED lights will begin to flash.

3. Scan for the Muse headband in the list of nearby devices, and tap to pair.

4. When your device confirms that the headband is paired, open your Muse app and select Start Session.

5. Select the image on the right “Button without Power Symbol”. Wait for your device to connect to the Muse.

6. Place the headband on your head, ensure volume is turned up and begin the signal quality check.
